Research
interests:
My
research interests lie at the intersection of evolutionary ecology,
ecophysiology and population genetics. I want to understand how
plant populations respond to environmental pressures that vary across the
range of a single species and identify traits which may be under
selection. Specifically, I am interested in exploring whether plant
populations exhibit patterns of local adaptation and genetic variation
due to natural selection along a shoreline to landward environmental
gradient across the coastal dunes.
I am also interested in increasing
science literacy, as well as general understanding of the process of
science. Other research unrelated to my dissertation project
focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning at the university
level.
