Dr. Larry (Beau) Brouillette.  Former graduate student, Ph.D. 2009. Plant Biology, University of Georgia.   Beau is now a research scientist at Pioneer in Iowa.

 

Dr. Ava Howard.  Former graduate student, Ph.D. 2008. Plant Biology, University of Georgia.   Ava is now an Assistant Western Oregon University.

 

Dr. David Rosenthal Former graduate student, Ph.D. 2004. Plant Biology, University of Georgia.   David is a postdoc at the USD/ARS-UIUC Institute for genomic Biology, Urbana, IL.

Dr. Christina Richards.  Former graduate student, Ph.D 2004. Plant Biology University of Georgia.  Christina a postdoc with Dr. Michael Purugganan  at New York University.

Dr. Javier Espeleta. Former graduate student (on left in graduation photo).  Ph.D. 2002 Plant Biology University of Georgia.  Javier is now a postdoc at the University of Minnesota

Dr. Jill Johnston. Former graduate student (2nd from right in graduation photo).  Ph.D. 2002 Plant Biology University of Georgia.  Jill is now Jill Johnston West and is looking for new professional avenues in Uvalde, Texas.  Jill and Jason’s son, Hugo Alexander West, was born in February 2008.

Dr. Jason West former graduate student (on right in graduation photo)  Ph.D. 2002 Plant Biology University of Georgia.  Jason is now a postdoc with Dr. Jim Ehleringer at the University of Utah. And will be starting a faculty position at Texas A&M Research Center in Uvalde in summer 2008

Rob Addington (former graduate student). B.S.  M.S. Botany 2001 University of Georgia.  Rob is currently a research scientist for the Nature Conservancy

Dr. Dave Grise (former graduate student and postdoc) B.S. 1980 Gannon University; M.S. 1984 SUNY Binghamton NY; Ph.D. Botany 1997 University of Georgia. Dissertation: Effects of elevated CO2 and high temperatures on the relative growth rates and competitive interaction between a C3 (Chenopodium album) and a C4 annual (Amaranthus hybridus).   Dave is a Visiting Assistnat Professor, Texas A&M, Corpus Christie.

Rebecca Pappert (former graduate student) B.S. 1995 Boston University. M.S. Botany 1998 University of Georgia. Thesis: Population genetic variation and heteroic patterns of Pueraria lobata (kudzu).  Rebecca is currently the Librarian for Life Sciences at University of Virginia

Geraldine Dodd (former graduate student) B.S. 1993 California State Polytech University, Pomoma CA. M.S. Botany 1998 University of Georgia. Thesis: Salinity studies on two desert shrubs from Mono Lake, CA.

 FORMER POSTDOCS:

Dr. Fulco Ludwig, former postdoc. Fulco is currently a research scientist with Earth Systems Science and Climate Change group, Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Netherlands.


Dr. Keirith Snyder, former postdoc.  Keirith is now a research scientist in plant ecophysiology at the USDA ARS - Exotic and Invasive Weeds Research Unit, NV.

Dr. Matthew J. Linton, former postdoc. Now Lecturer at University of Utah.

Dr. Andrea Schwarzbach, former visiting postdoc from Indiana University lab of Dr. Loren Rieseberg working on Helianthus hybrid phenotyping and genotyping for QTL analysis of traits related to adaptations of hybrid species in natural habitats. Andrea is now a faculty member at the University of Texas at Brownsville, Department of Biological Sciences.

 

Former Undergraduate Students and Research Technicians:

Maheteme Gebremedhin. former Technician. Maheteme is now a Ph.D. student at Alabama Technical and Mechanical University.

Maggie Caird. Undergraduate researcher and NSF REU student in lab 1999-2001 at UGA, B.S. Botany 2001 University of Georgia.  Dr. Caird is currently a postdoc at University of Utah.
