FUNGAL
BIOLOGY AT UGA

Fungal Molecular Biology Group
Meeting, April, 2006
Fungal
Molecular Biology Group
Six
fungal molecular biology labs meet together every week. Postdocs,
grad students, undergrads, techs and PIs present their latest work or a paper
from the literature. It is a diverse, collegial group with lots of great ideas
to share.
Participating research
Groups: Covert Lab
(Molecular Genetics of plant-fungal interactions, Fusarium circinatum, Cronartium
quercuum f.sp. fusiforme and Ustilago maydis), Glenn Lab (Endophytic Fungi and their interactions with hosts, Fusarium
verticilliodes, Neotyphodium
coenophialum), Glover Lab (Role and
mechanism of Casein Kinase II, Saccharomyces
cerevisiae), Gold Lab
(Molecular biology of plant-fungal pathogen interactions, Ustilago
maydis), Momany Lab
(Polarity, cell wall and cell cycle in Aspergillus nidulans and A.
fumigatus), Schmidt Lab
(Biosynthesis of isoprenylated signaling molecules in
S. cerevisiae).
