Congratulation to Jon Dees, Senior Lecturer in Plant Biology! Jon was recognized for his excellent teaching in Introductory Biology (BIOL 1107) at UGA with the Sandy Beaver Excellence in Teaching Award! 

This award honors “outstanding faculty in Franklin who have shown a sustained commitment to high-quality instruction" and is so well-deserved! Congratulations, Jon!

In addition to teaching, Jon also engages in biology education to inform his teaching. He collects and analyzes data on how his students use procedural knowledge, how they understand phylogenetic trees, and how peer learning assistants in his classroom impact student learning.
