Philip Bentz, a Plant Biology PhD Candidate in the Leebens-Mack Lab, has recently published an innovative research article that delves into the evolutionary origins of dioecy within the genus Asparagus.

CJ Tsai, Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar and Professor in Plant Biology, Genetics, and in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, has been a named a recipient of the Scientific Achievement Award of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO).

Dr. Michelle Momany, a Professor in Plant Biology, was recently featured in an episode of the acclaimed podcast "People, Parasites, and Plagues," hosted by Dr. David Peterson and Dr. Liliana Salvador, two infectious disease researchers from the University of Georgia.

We are thrilled to announce two well-deserved awards presented to Max Barnhart and Yen-Ho Chen from the Department of Plant Biology. 

We are excited to share a new scholarship opportunity for Plant Biology students: the Michael O. Moore Scholarship in Plant Biology. This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Michael O. Moore (1957 -1999) who served as Curator of the Georgia Herbarium from 1990-1999.
